The new modular multi-purpose vessel of the Bulgarian Navy, ''Hrabri'' (Brave), was launched into Varna Lake from the pier of the MTG – Dolphin shipyard. Construction of the modular multi-purpose vessel began in 2022. It is the first of two multi-purpose modular patrol vessels being built near Varna under the direction of NVL Group, formerly Lürssen Defence, with the involvement of numerous Bulgarian companies. The second ship is named ''Smeli'' (Courageus).

Both frigates will carry out a wide range of tasks in international allied missions of NATO and the EU, countering air, land, surface and underwater threats. ''Hrabri''  and ''Smeli'' are approximately 90 meters long, have a displacement of 2,300 tons, and can carry a helicopter. They feature modern weaponry, an integrated combat management system, and advanced sensor equipment, reported maritime.bg.
