Bulgaria has sufficient reserves of gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov said in the National Assembly, BNR reporter Violeta Ashikova informed. According to Stankov, four companies will be affected by the US sanctions against Lukoil.
“Bulgarian citizens should be very calm when it comes to fuel supplies to the country,” the minister said. According to him, even if fuel imports were suspended today, the country would have gasoline for six months, diesel fuel for four months and aviation fuel for two months.
Minister Stankov said that Bulgaria would probably achieve a derogation from the sanctions against Russian oil and gas, which will guarantee the production process, ensuring needs and maintaining price levels. He added that on October 27, Bulgaria submitted an official request for an exemption from the sanctions.
The minister defended the legislative changes that expand the functions of the special commercial manager at Lukoil.
