Sofia University ''St. Kliment Ohridski'' and the Technical University of Sofia included in prestigious global ranking

For the third consecutive year, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” has been included in a prestigious global ranking. In the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, the university ranks 814th out of 2,002 universities. It ranks in the top 40% of the world’s best universities, 312th among 621 European universities, and 29th out of 90 universities in Eastern Europe. The ranking evaluates research in science and technology related to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the social and environmental impact of the universities.

In the “Environmental Impact” category, Sofia University ranks 1,025th. It is placed 845th in the “Social Impact” category. In the “Governance” category, the university ranks 370th. The university is also placed 728th in “Environmental Sustainability”, 677th in “Gender Equality”, and 654th in “Knowledge Exchange”.

The Technical University of Sofia is 1,501st in the ranking.
