EBRD to establish a technology center in Bulgaria focused on AI

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will open a technology center in Bulgaria focused on emerging technologies such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud services. This becomes possible after the Parliament ratified the agreement between Bulgaria and the bank.

The plan is for the EBRD to hire over 100 employees within 18 months from the signing of the agreement, with ambitions to further develop the technology center and recruit additional staff after that period. Bulgaria was chosen because the country offers a pool of well-qualified IT specialists.

The center is expected to contribute to the development of the local technology ecosystem.
