The seventeenth annual celebration of young wine in Plovdiv was officially opened on 21 November. The wine marathon, which will continue throughout the weekend, promises an unforgettable culinary and cultural journey through the authentic atmosphere of the Old Town.
The festivities began on Friday with the colorful “Dionysian Procession,” led by the Trakia Ensemble and the ancient Greek god of wine, Dionysus, who symbolically opened the first barrel.

For three days, 46 winemakers from across Bulgaria are offering tastings of more than 300 varieties of young wine from the 2025 vintage at 17 locations in Plovdiv - National Revival Period houses, museums, and galleries. The atmosphere, the aroma of young wine, and the spirit of tradition bring thousands of guests from Bulgaria and abroad to this unique autumn experience. In addition to the wine, visitors can sample the products of 16 local artisans: fine cheeses, masterfully crafted meat delicacies, eco-friendly sweets, and many other treats and temptations for the palate.

The event will conclude on 23 November with the “Night of the Masters of Wine” and the awarding of the best young wines.
