A head collision of a truck with a bus, carrying 26 visually impaired people from the Sofia-area town of Pernik ended up with 9 dead in the bus, the driver among them. Other 19 of the passengers were wounded. The reasons for the accident are to be clarified but the prosecution says that the bus entered the left lane. Mayor of Pernik Vyara Tserovksa visited the wounded at the Lovech hospital and said that Monday would be proclaimed a day of mourning in Pernik.
The life of one of the patients, received by Sofia's Military Medical Academy is still in danger, its Director Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchyiski reported. The other patients, received by hospitals in the towns of Lovech and Pleven, and also in the capital, are in stable condition.
In the meantime another person died in yet another heavy collision in the same area near Mikre, many others were injured.
