Hurricane winds overtook the Bansko winter resort in Southwest Bulgaria and all the facilities had to be closed. State of emergency was proclaimed in the Smolyan Municipality due to the stormy wind. Many of the local road arteries are closed due to uprooted and fallen trees with electricity cut off across several settlements. Hurricane winds, speeding up to 100 km/h are registered in the Sliven region, Southeast Bulgaria.
