There are 4,175 vacant beds at the refugee centers in Bulgaria by March 16, Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova announced at the National Assembly. A total of 955 foreign nationals are accommodated in the country’s shelters for temporary accommodation. Only foreign citizens seeking international protection are accommodated in the territorial units of the State Agency for Refugees. The refugees can stay there until the end of the administrative proceedings aimed at providing protection to the foreign nationals. Foreign nationals who receive international protection have to reside at a previously stated address. They are obliged to visit the municipality of their future residence and get an entry in the population register, Minister Bachvarova added.
