Director of Europol pays visit to Bulgaria

Director of Europol Robert Wainwright is on a visit to Bulgaria. The major goal of the visit is strengthening cooperation between the organization and Bulgaria, keeping in mind current challenges in the security sphere. After a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov it was reported that Bulgaria would send two officers to Europol - one specialized in combating terrorism and the other - in combating human trafficking. The Prime Minister also reported that in the past year 200 traffickers were arrested in this country. Rob Wainwright said that in recent months close cooperation in exchange of information between Bulgaria and Europol has been achieved. The guest also pointed out that Europol was ready to assist this country's efforts in combating corruption.
