Bulgaria should be proud of the fact that its political class gives top priority to child rights in the country’s international activities, said Gabriella Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe. She spoke on the occasion of the Strategy for the Rights of the Child adopted during the Bulgarian presidency of the Committee of Ministers. A high level international conference is underway in Sofia on the new strategy for the child until 2021 drawn up by the Council of Europe. Dragoni identified a range of problems including inequality in terms of opportunity, violence against children, children’s rights in the digital environment and the rights of migrant children especially unaccompanied ones.
