The Ninth National Conference of the parliamentary party DPS (the predominantly ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms) has elected unanimously a new chairman, Mustafa Karadayi. 46-year-old Karadayi has been with the party since 1990s and has gradually climbed the party ladder. He is an economist by education. Close to 900 delegates from across the country are going to appoint the new Central Committee and the Central Control Commission. The election has come after former MRF leader Lutvi Mestan left the party to set up a new one, DOST.
