At the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev stated that over the past decade Europe and Asia had achieved a great deal together, but that genuine success in cross-regional cooperation could only be attained if they unite over a shared long-term vision of the future.
In his speech at the meeting, President Plevneliev pointed out that with its strategic location in Southeastern Europe, Bulgaria would continue as a regional centre for the transiting of goods and services from Asia to the common European market. The participants in the meeting include German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang as well European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
