Photo: BNR

The Bulgarian and the Russian side are setting up a joint working group to look into possible options regarding the Belene NPP project, after in mid-June, the Court of Arbitration in Geneva ruled that Bulgaria pay Atomstroyexport EUR 550 million in compensation for the equipment commissioned and manufactured by the Russian company for the Belene NPP project, which Bulgaria scrapped.
The experts will try to find a solution to the satisfaction of both sides to be endorsed as soon as possible. Agreement on this was reached by Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and representatives of the Russian state atomic energy corporation Rosatom.
