Pastrogor residents demand local refugee center closedown

Photo: BGNES

Residents of Pastrogor, Southeastern Bulgaria, have demanded the closedown of the refugee center based in the village. Pastrogor located near Svilengrad has about 100 residents and the migrants accommodated in the center are as many. The people of Pastrogor argue that they have been forgotten by the government and that political leaders visit the village only to campaign during elections. The nation cannot unite spontaneously: unification should come from the National Assembly in Sofia, the locals contend. They are united around their demand for closing the refugee center.
