Photo: library

A bilateral commission has been working on a project for construction of high-speed railway line between the Greek port of Alexandroupolis and Burgas Port. The financing will be provided by the European Union as part of the agreement for railway corridor between the ports on the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea. According to preliminary studies, the Greek-Bulgarian project would reduce the time necessary for transfer of goods from two days to six hours only. Currently, the merchandise between those two ports is transferred by sea through the Bosphorus. The delivery price will be also reduced significantly.
