Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior is tightening the security in all Bulgarian districts. Large-scale inspections will be held on all airports, bus stations and railway stations across the country. The National Gendarmerie has deployed staff to all Bulgarian resorts and other crowded areas. Bulgaria does not face immediate threat of terrorist attacks, outgoing Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachavrova said. Minister Bachvarova calls on all citizens to be on the alert and signal the competent authorities about suspicious people and luggage. Security forces will guard the city squares where large groups of people are expected to celebrate the New Year’s Eve.
