Bulgarian National Radio turns to Commission for Protection of Competition over Musicautor case

The Bulgarian National Radio has sent to the Commission for Protection of Competition a request for initiation of proceedings and imposing of sanctions against "Musicautor."

The reason is that the association for collective management of copyright unilaterally terminated the contract with BNR, thus banning the public media from playing music with copyrights held by "Musicautor."

In the request the Director General of BNR, Alexander Velev, writes that "Musicautor" violates the principle of equality by putting the public radio in a disadvantaged position in comparison to commercial media.
