President gives important powers to vice president

An extraordinary issue of the State Gazette has promulgated a decree under which President Rumen Radev defines the powers of Vice President Iliana Iotova. The vice president is authorized to grant and restore Bulgarian citizenship and to release from and deprive persons of it. Iliana Iotova has the power to provide shelter and exercise the right to pardon. The vice president is also given powers under the Law for the Bulgarians Living Outside the Republic of Bulgaria, and will be able to appoint and dismiss civil servants.
