The European Commission has approved the last payment of emergency financial assistance to protect the Bulgarian border as an external border of the EU and for measures against migratory flow coming from Turkey.
EC President Jean-Claude Juncker vowed last September in Bratislava that Bulgaria would receive up to 160 million euros of emergency funding for Bulgaria. Today Sofia received another 6.1 million euros, spokesman for migration Tove Ernst told the BNR. This adds up to already provided funding for Bulgaria from October 2016 onwards.
