No tension expected at Kulata–Promachonas border checkpoint over any actions by Greek farmers

Caretaker PM Ognyan Gerdzhikov got acquainted with the situation at the Kulata–Promachonas border crossing. Gerdzhikov met with Greek officials and thanked them for the good interaction regarding the tensions among Greek farmers and the threat of a border roadblock.

As the caretaker prime minister visited the Greek-Bulgarian border, it became apparent that at this point no tension was to be expected at Kulata–Promachonas over any actions by Greek farmers. Ognyan Gerdzhikov was accompanied by Interior Minister from the caretaker cabinet Plamen Uzunov. Minister Uzunov stated that all structures stood in readiness to ensure public order in the event of any surprises on the part of Greek farmers. Ognyan Gerdzhikov on his part stated that the two countries were interacting well, adding that he hoped any chaos will be avoided.

The situation is normal at the other two border checkpoints as well – Lesovo and Kapitan Andreevo.
