Georgi Dimov: It is time to end dual citizenship

Photo: Bulphoto

With the elimination of dual citizenship Bulgaria might terminate interference of foreign countries in its internal affairs. This is what Georgi Dimov, former Consul General of Bulgaria in Edirne, quoted by the Focus Agency.

It is a regular practice for Bulgarian emigrants to Turkey to be organized and massively returned to Bulgaria during elections to vote for ethnic parties. According to Dimov, Bulgaria should choose complete abolition of dual citizenship.

According to him, neighboring Turkey has a strategy for the creation of ethnic parties in countries in the Balkans and Western Europe. In the Balkans these parties are represented as the voice of Muslim minorities, while in the West they are portrayed as an alternative to Islamophobia.
