BDZ to purchase new railcars within two years

BDZ will start purchasing new railcars, the Executive Director of Bulgarian State Railways Holding Vladimir Vladimirov said on Sunday. This procedure will start at the end of September 2017.  The customer requirements will be taken into consideration as well. The technological deadline for supply and commissioning is 24 months, but we can also rent some trains earlier, said Mr Vladimirov. Until then the construction of most high-speed routes must be completed. Currently the state cannot afford to make large-scale and quick investments in this sector, but it should at least make some moderate investments for a long period of time, in order to saturate the railway network with modern railcars and trains, Vladimir Vladimirov contends.
