The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has announced extreme danger of fires in 12 regions of the country. The warning applies to parts of the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Varna, Bourgas, Yambol, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad. Extreme fire danger means that fast-spreading and very strong fires are possible. Danger of fires exists in the whole of northern Bulgaria, as well as the southern and southeastern regions of the country.
