Connectivity, cooperation and security – we should make these key words our leading principles for the development of the Central and East European region, said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev addressing the Global Forum organized by the Atlantic Council in Warsaw.

The Bulgarian head of state described the policies targeted at bringing the member states and the individual EU regions closer together as a key factor contributing to reinforcing the convincing presence of the EU on the international arena.

Regarding the challenges in relations with Russia, President Radev commented that the EU must keep all channels open for holding a dialogue with Moscow, so as to prevent any danger of escalation of the Ukraine crisis and the enhancement of long-term confrontation.
