Bulgaria’s Minister of Finance has ordered an inspection in relation with the revelations about the so-called Azerbaijani Laundromat. In a statement to the media Minister Goranov says: We are following carefully that topic and are worried with the information published in the media. I have ordered an inspection and asked explanation from Bulgaria’s representative at the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Kalin Mitrev. The Bulgarian cabinet will take a stand at its regular sitting on Thursday depending on the information gathered until then, Minister Goranov further points out. An investigation by leading European media has shown that some 2.5 billion Euros have been paid to European politicians and diplomats to divert attention and criticism from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
