Bulgaria has moved from 50th to 49th position in the Global Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum. This country is ahead of a number of countries that joined the European Union in 2004, as well as Romania. However, the population of Bulgaria declines by 100,000 every year. Moreover, Bulgaria has dropped a position in comparison to last year’s report when it comes to institutions. The report finds them cumbersome and deeply corrupt.
