The European Commission revised upwards its forecast about the growth of the Bulgarian economy in 2017. The steady growth of the Bulgarian economy is supported by high domestic consumption, the EC notes. In its autumn economic forecast the EC points out that the Bulgarian economy is expected to grow with 3.9% this year. Its previous forecast made in May this year showed that the economy of this country would mark a 2.9% increase year on year. The EC expects that in 2018 the growth of the Bulgarian economy will slow down slightly to 3.8% of the gross domestic product. The Bulgarian economy will continue to grow steadily. Inflation, which was negative for nearly three years, is now positive again, unemployment will continue to fall and salaries will mark significant increase, the forecast further shows.
