The Council of Ministers has adopted a decision to ease the visa regime for Canadian citizens owning diplomatic and special passports. These categories of Canadian citizens will be able to enter, pass through or s reside on the territory of Bulgaria without visas for a period of no more than 90 days within each 180-day period.

Adoption of the decision aims at adhering to the principle of reciprocity in bilateral visa policy with Canada. On December 1, 2010, a visa-free regime for entry and residing in Canada came into force for Bulgarian citizens holding all types of passports.
