After researchers from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) organized protests over underfunding, the government took a decision to add another 7.5 million euro to the Academy’s budget for 2018.
The additional financing will be distributed among the different academy departments on the basis of an evaluation of the work and the results of the individual sectors throughout the past year, which is a long standing practice for the BAS.
