Bulgarian Minister Liliana Pavlova has officially opened the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union at the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels.
"We speak many different languages, but we do not need translation of a common culture," Pavlova said, speaking to the audience. "The history of Bulgaria is over 1300 years old and it is the only country in Europe that has not changed its name since its founding,” the Minister added.
A solemn concert with the participation of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Vanya Moneva Choir and pianist Lyudmil Angelov has taken place, presenting works representative of Bulgarian and European classical music and folklore.The event is attended by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, President Rumen Radev, Minister of Culture Boil Banov, as well as a number of officials and representatives of the European institutions.
