General practitioners in Sofia are organizing a protest in front of the National Palace of Culture building in Sofia today against excessive workloads connected with administrative tasks, demanding that they be reduced.

In a declaration to the Ministry of Health, the protestors are also demanding the payment, in full, of the user charge for each visit to the doctor’s, as well as that the now existing 24-hour on-call time obligation be cancelled.

At the same time an informal meeting of EU health ministers will be taking place at the National Palace of Culture to discuss healthy nutrition for children as well as the effectiveness, availability and affordability of medicines.
