Bulgaria and Croatia will assist the study of the Bulgarian and the Croatian language at universities in the two countries. Lecturers in Bulgarian language and literature will be sent to the University of Zagreb, and in the Croatian language – to the St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia.

Croatian students will receive scholarships to study the Bulgarian language in Bulgaria, and Bulgarian students – to study Croatian in Croatia. All this is envisaged in a bilateral cooperation agreement in the sphere of science and education, signed by Bulgarian Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev and his Croatian counterpart Blaženka Divjak in Zagreb. Within the framework of his visit to Zagreb, Minister Valchev met with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Croatia.
