PM Borissov expects the grey economy to shrink by 10 percent this year

At an award ceremony “Business to the rules” for 2017, PM Boyko Borissov stated that he expected the grey economy in Bulgaria to shrink by another 10 percent this year, and the level of cigarette smuggling to drop.

The Bulgarian prime minister presented the award for individual or organization with a contribution to restricting and preventing the informal economy of the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers. The Association’s President Vassil Velev commented that “the bigger the formal economy, the higher the budget revenues.”
