A total of 46.6 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund will be invested in modernizing tram infrastructure and services in the Bulgarian capital, the EC said.
EU funded activities include reconstruction of tramways, the purchase of new trams and the modernization of traffic management and passenger information systems. According to Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Creţu, Sofia residents will enjoy modern and comfortable tramcar transportation and the air in the capital city will be cleaner.
