Bulgaria and Romania continue to make joint efforts to enter Schengen

Bulgaria and Romania will continue to make joint efforts towards a joint accession to the Schengen Area, the Chairman of the National Assembly Internal Security and Public Order Committee Tsvetan Tsvetanov and the Head of Commission for Defense, Public Order and National Security of Romania Dorel Căprar confirmed at a meeting at the Bulgarian National Assembly. Bulgaria and Romania are not part of the Schengen Area yet, although the two countries have fulfilled all necessary criteria, which is unfair, Tsvetan Tsvetanov said. Dorel Căprar reported on the progress registered in the Bulgaria-Romania relations in the security field and emphasized on the enhanced interaction of the Bulgarian and Romanian gendarmeries, national and border police.
