We cannot cope in a world with complex international agenda without the help of our best ambassadors- the Bulgarian expatriates, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said at a meeting in Washington with representatives of the Bulgarian community. In 2017 the number of Bulgarians returning to their home country equaled the number of people leaving Bulgaria for the first time in the past twenty seven years, Minister Zaharieva pointed out. Deputy Premier Ekaterina Zaharieva has assured that she will discuss the topic related to the abolishment of the US visas for Bulgarian citizens at the forthcoming meeting with the US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.
