Bulgarians to spend quarter of their salary for Christmas presents

Bulgarian households will spend up to 25% of their monthly income for gifts for Christmas and New Year, according to the 2018 Christmas Barometer survey of the Ferratum Group, conducted in 19-countries. It places Bulgaria at 4th place on planned expenses for the upcoming holidays. The Mexicans top the chart as they are going to spend almost half of their salary (48%) for presents, followed by the Brazilians (38%) and the Romanians (29%). The Dutch and the Germans will spend about 10% of their monthly income for the purpose. The most popular Christmas gift in 2018 will be clothing - 16%; toys (10%); sweets (9%) and family entertainment (8%).
