President Rumen Radev met, in Amman, with King Abdullah II of Jordan. The two discussed cooperation in defence and security, as well as the situation in the Middle East and the refugee problem.

President Radev stressed that Jordan must have the support of Bulgaria and the countries of the EU, as it is a barrier to illegal migration.

“Jordan is successfully fighting terrorism, illegal arms trafficking, and that makes it an island of stability in the Middle East,” President Rumen Radev said. Economic cooperation was also in the focus of attention at the meeting. The defence industry, power generation, information technologies, electronics and the food industry were highlighted as potential spheres for encouraging mutual investments and setting up joint ventures.
