In 2018 Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs allotted EUR 3 million to 67 development projects in other countries. Biggest financial assistance was provided to Serbia, North Macedonia and Moldova. The "soft power" of Bulgaria's diplomacy is focused on projects related to democratic institutions, human rights, healthcare, education and cultural diversity, which boosts the image of our country, especially in strategic regions- the Western Balkans and the Black Sea region, this country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva underlined. In 2019 Bulgaria will give priority to 41 bilateral projects in North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo to the tune of EUR 1.6 million.
