More and more people with university degrees will be working in positions that require a lower level of education, and in the long term, the biggest demand will be for people with secondary specialized education.

This is one of the conclusions in the outlook for the development of the labour market in Bulgaria up to 2032. In 2022 the number of university graduates working in positions requiring a lower level of education is expected to be 41,600, and in 2032 - 53,000. In 2022 1.5 million people with a secondary vocational education will be needed. In 2032 the number of employed people in the 15 - 64 age bracket is expected to be 2,965,700 or 3.4 percent fewer than in 2018, said Minister of Labour and Social Policy Biser Petkov. Every other person holding a job is in Sofia, Plovdiv or Varna, the estimate points out.
