Markus Söder: We support Bulgaria’s Schengen bid

"We support Bulgaria on its road to Schengen," Minister-President of Bavaria Marcus Söder said after a closed meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Söder is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of PM Borissov. The two discussed bilateral co-operation in the areas of home affairs, security, economy and finance and other hot topics on the European agenda. Söder said said Bulgaria was an "important factor for the stability of the whole region" and praised this country for the successful protection of EU's external border. Borissov pointed out Bulgaria was a very good place for investments and that the country was fully prepared for Schengen membership.
