A flu epidemic has been declared in half of the regions in Bulgaria- Plovdiv, Sliven, Vidin, Kyustendil, Silistra, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Sofia city, Sofia district, Blagoevgrad, Pernik and Pazardzhik. Over 1,300 schools throughout the country went on flu holiday. Elective surgeries and hospital visits are restricted in the abovementioned districts.
