Tighter measures against spread of coronavirus extended by 2 weeks

Bulgaria's Health Minister Kiril Ananiev has extended the anti-epidemic measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Bulgaria until April 12. The National Crisis Staff has called for all patients with respiratory problems to be tested for coronavirus in all hospitals in the country. The crisis staff has also recommended the development of a unified strategy for discharging the cured patients in order to free hospital beds in a timely manner for new patients. 

Five times fewer ID documents are currently being issued, the Interior Ministry reports. In order to avoid gathering of many people in front of the counters, the validity date of expired ID documents will be extended by 6 months, but they will only be valid on the territory of Bulgaria. Bulgarians abroad can renew their documents in Bulgaria's diplomatic missions in the respective countries.
The current school year will not be declared a "zero" one, Bulgaria's Education Minister Krassimir Valchev said. So far, the ministry is not planning to postpone the dates of matriculation exams, the minister added.
