Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva announced that more than 700 Bulgarians around the world have stated they want to come back to the country because of the coronavirus epidemic.
70 of them are tourists and their number has dropped after some of them returned over the weekend with the assistance of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. There are still some isolated cases but some tourist groups are compact and it is easier to organize transportation for them, as is the case with 12 tourists in Chile. The state is assuming no financial commitments for their return and is only organizing the return by national transport. There are more than 180 people who want to return from Spain. Many have lived in other countries for a long time but have now decided that in the conditions of coronavirus pandemic it is better to return to Bulgaria, Minister Zaharieva said.
