Bulgarian children earn prizes at prestigious international music competition

Bulgaria’s tenth-grader Simeon Bozhilov from the town of Shumen won first prize at the International Music Competition Belgrade held in Serbia. Elia Uzunova placed second in the Solo Performers category and keyboard duo Viktor Bratoev-Simeon Bozhilov finished second in Ensembles category. The Bulgarian children are participating at the competition online without violating the measures taken against COVID-19. A total of 299 children from 28 countries take part at this year’s competition. The international jury consisting of French, Israeli, Chinese, Polish and Russian nationals also worked online. Over 9,000 people from 49 countries and 593 towns have participated at the contest in nine years. Over 8 million people watched the competitions’ performances.
