EC closes infringement procedures against Bulgaria

The European commission has announced that it is closing the infringement procedures against Bulgaria, Greece and Ireland after the full introduction of three European rules in the sphere of criminal law in the three countries.

These rules cover the implementation of the principles of mutual recognition of judgments and probation decisions, of judgments on criminal matters, of financial penalties.

The EC launched a procedure against Bulgaria in January last year. Later this country announced it had fully introduced the respective rules in its national legislation.
