“The pandemic showed how important solidarity is in the fight against the threat, and the need of closer cooperation among countries. In the conditions of the Covid-19 crisis, Bulgaria and Turkey, being good neighbours, demonstrated extraordinary cooperation in an extraordinary situation,” said Turkish Ambassador to Sofia Aylin Sekizkök, in an interview for Radio Bulgaria. She laid emphasis on the successful resolution of the problems connected with the passage of trucks between the countries and the preservation of the supply chain. “Bulgaria made an exception allowing the transit passage of hundreds of thousands of Turkish citizens forced to return from Europe because of the coronavirus crisis, and Turkey is grateful for this,” Mrs. Sekizkök said.
