Administrative justice in Bulgaria climbs one position within the EU and is now second with regard to speed of examination of administrative cases at all instances.

Bulgaria is second only to Sweden, the press service of the Supreme Administrative Court reports, citing official EU data for 2019. With regard to the other indicators – functionality, efficiency and independence - Bulgaria’s administrative justice is again among the leading justice systems in Europe.

For the first time, in 2019, 134 cases were opened against legislative acts, twice the number in 2018.
