Extradition case against Tsvetan Vasilev postponed again

Tsvetan Vasilev

The Supreme Court in Belgrade has postponed the case at which banker Tsvetan Vasilev, who has been escaping from Bulgaria’s justice, had to be heard. In the past 6 years, the Bulgarian authorities have been attempting to bring Vasilev back to Bulgaria. Bulgaria’s Prosecution charged Tsvetan Vasilev with embezzling a big amount of money from the bankrupt Corporate Commercial Bank. Additional information sent by the Bulgarian authorities had to be considered at the court sitting. The case was adjourned, because Tsvetan Vasilev’s defence did not appear in court. The next sitting is scheduled for June 18. The Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade refused to comment why the trial related to Tsvetan Vasilev’s extradition has been protracted, BGNES reports.
