Bulgarian hauliers find support for amendments to Mobility package texts from 6 European countries

Together with their colleagues form Romania, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Cyprus and Malta, Bulgarian hauliers sent an open letter to the European Parliament, stating they are against some specific measures envisaged in the Mobuility package.

46% of the journeys by Bulgarian carriers are expected to be empty because of the time it takes for the vehicles to return to the country of registration every 8 weeks. The Union of International Hauliers describes the empty journeys as the blackest scenario for any company. Because of these journeys harmful emissions are expected to go up by 2%. They will also increase traffic at borders.
